Committee Members

Management of the choir is in the hands of the Executive Committee, elected at the Annual General Meeting in Term 1 of each Choir Year.  The members of the Executive Committee are currently as follows:


Chairperson

  • Chairs Committee meetings / Spokesperson for the Committee
  • Ensures the smooth running of meetings and successful progress of choir matters

Choir Secretary

  • Takes minutes at meetings/ Circulates agenda and minutes of meetings to committee members. and ensures follow-up
  • Helps with administrative tasks such as choir mailings and updates, planning and bookings

Treasurer

  • Works with Committee to produce and monitor annual and concert specific budgets
  • Responsible for all payments and receipts, and for the long-term financial viability of the choir
  • Maintains the choir’s accounts using MS Excel or equivalent software
  • Collects membership fees

Membership Secretary
  • Maintains the Choir Membership records.
  • Liaises with Section reps to ensure newcomers submit the New Member Form and enters data on website
  • Liaises with Treasurer on subscription receipts to confirm both new and ongoing membership
  • Liaises with Section reps on absentees to reclassify members as appropriate

Webmaster
  • Maintains the Choir Website and advises Members and Committee on its  use

Publicity Officer  
  • Coordinates the promotion of the choir image and concert activities online and offline
  • Responsible for production of all publicity material and encourages choir members to publicise concerts and sell tickets

Concert Manager
  • Responsible for all aspects of concert arrangements, in advance and on the day, co-ordinating input from other Committee members as needed
  • Recruits and manages helpers from the general membership for each event

Choir Librarians

        Liaises with the Musical Director to identify and source required music ahead of new term
  • Hands out new music at start of term and collects scores back from choir members after concerts
  • Maintains an inventory of, choir music

SATB Section Representatives
  • Spokesperson for ideas or issues raised by choir members within the section
  • Welcomes new singers at the start of rehearsals and facilitates their integration within the section
  • Maintains attendance registers for the section
  • Follows up newcomers and absentees within to encourage regular attendance of singers and help accuracy of choir membership records
